About Department of History
Department of History was established in 1971. The Department of History has contributed immensely to the development and progress of the college. At the beginning of the department Prof. Misal M. P. 1971-84, Prof. Pawal Y. P. 1984-93, Prof. Raimule S. G. 1993-2010, Prof. Kandare V.S. 2010-11 and since 2011 to the present time Dr. Anita Shinde is working as the head of the department and carrying all department responsibility firmly and successfully, from 2021 onwards Mr. Kale Sanjay is working in the history department as Assit. Prof. (C.H.B.). For the overall development of the students, the Department of History conducts various seminars, conferences, exhibitions, preservation and conservation of historical objects. Every year, the Department of History organizes programs on the birth anniversary and death anniversaries of various great historical Personalities to convey their thoughts to the students by inviting professors who are experts in the subject. The Department of History organizes annual trips to visit historical, and socio-cultural places, for students, these tours are providing hands-on experience of historical monuments. The Department of History has successfully organized and conducted many state and national-level seminars and conferences. During the time of the Covid-19 Lockdown, the history department has taken care of the students' studies by conducting online classes. Many students of the Department of History have joined various positions in different government and semi-government and educational sectors. The head of the department visits various educational and social places and delivers lectures based on social and historical topics. The professors of the history department have published papers based on their research in various national and international journals. During the academic year of 2022-23, the Department of History Co-organized a Two-Day National Conference with Icon Sculpture Research Foundation Aurangabad, on the topic of Sculpture, Art and Architecture on 11th & 12th February 2023. At the same time, they are fulfilling all the eligibility criteria of the university. The Department of History is always ready for the welfare and comprehensive progress of the students.
